Safeguards For A Happy Home
By George & Tammie Matranga

1. We set aside one day per week for family Bible study, prayer, and devotion.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness , and all these things shall be added to you.” Matt. 6:33

2. We are committed to our home Church fellowship and in raising our family in the house of God.
Ps. 84:1-4,10 “Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they will still be praising You.” verse 4

3. We, before leaving the house each day, kneel before the altar in honor of God asking Him for His Divine wisdom, protection, and guidance.
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” James 4:10

4. We, in all matters pertaining to marriage, family and others, make it our aim to be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath…” James 1:19

5. We guard our family so that the devil does not try to drive a wedge between us by anger, pride, strife, and resentment.
“…nor give place to the devil” Eph. 4:27

6. We settle all disagreements before we go to bed at night.
“Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath…” Eph 4:26

7. We are quick to repent. The erring spouse is responsible to make things right when one transgresses another.
Luke 17:3-4 “Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repent forgive him.” verse 3

8. We do not insult one another nor do we make each other the brunt of our jesting in front of others.
“Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another…” Rom. 12:10

9. We make each other our first concern.
“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” Phil. 2:3-4

10. We never put ourselves in the position of compromise with the opposite sex in personal or ministry matters.
“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” Rom. 13:14
